Mars founded Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. in 2017. She has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years motivating people through sports, personal training, and obstacle course races. Mars' lifestyle revolves around fitness, history, and politics. A native of Elgin, Illinois, Mars earned her bachelor's degree in political science from The University of Chicago in 2008 and her master's degree in sports administration from Northwestern University.
Marlissa "Mars" Herring
Stan is an avid sports enthusiast and coach. He has been in the fitness industry for over five years motivating people through coaching and personal training at Apex Athletics Academy. Stan's passions include finance, fitness, and community. A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Stan served 13 years in the U.S. Navy as an Operations Specialist. He went on to earn a degree in business management and accounting from California College of San Diego.
Stanley C. Williams
Yoli holds an associate degree in Liberal Arts from San Diego City College, and a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications from National University. She is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served her country as a Machinist’s Mate for four years. Her day job is a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Department of the Navy.
Yoli’s association with FBE began when she hit a plateau in her fitness journey around September 2018. Meeting personal trainers Mars Herring and Stanley Williams took her journey to another level and over time, personal and professional relationships have grown amongst the three. She is dedicated to helping create a positive culture around Black fitness and education by promoting the FBE brand and building a community of like-minded people. Additionally, she participates in at least one 5K every month, so when she isn’t monitoring FBE’s social pages, you can catch her at somebody’s finish line.
